Position Overview

Under the Direction of the Director of Child Welfare (or designate) the Assistant Director of Child Welfare is responsible for managing the Dilico Quality Assurance program.  The Quality Assurance program includes the development of service standards and audits, continuous quality improvement and developing plans to meet quality assurance objectives. The Assistant Director of Child Welfare provides reports on quality assurance and program evaluation as well as statistical analysis for the organization. The Assistant Director of Child Welfare identifies designs and implements the organization’s quality assurance system to ensure compliance with best services practice.

  • A minimum 3 year BSW or undergraduate degree in a related social sciences field is requiredA four-year HBSW degree is preferredCandidates without the specific education qualifications, but who possess an appropriate combination of child welfare experience and other academic qualifications will also be considered. 
  • three or more years experience in Child Welfare/Protection services; 
  • 2 years experience at a management level in child welfare is preferred
  • Experience in research and statistical analysis is an asset
  • Previous experience with implementation of quality assurance program would be considered an asset. 
  • Direct service experience with Anishinabek children and families.
  • satisfactory CAS Penlieu Search;
  • satisfactory Criminal Records Search;
  • ability to work flexible hours as determined by the Director or designate in relation to service delivery requirements;
  • must posses a valid Ontario Driver’s license and have access to a personal vehicle;
