Position Overview:
Under the direction of the Staff Development Manager, the Kinship Services Support Worker has the responsibility and duty to ensure the needs of the child(ren) are met in kinship living arrangements, when the child is not considered to be in care of the Agency.
The Kinship Service Support Worker is responsible for maintaining a consistent focus on the needs of the child and advocates with the Intake Unit and/or Family Service Unit to achieve permanency for children living with members of the child’s extended family or community. The Kinship Services Support Worker establishes service goals that represent the uniqueness of each kinship family and promotes and enhances the stability of the living arrangement for the child. The service is determined by the needs of the client, in the context of individual and/or group service models on or off site. The incumbent works flexible hours, which may include evenings and weekends in the event of emergencies.
