The District Native Child and Family Counsellor will provide clinical assessments, planning, treatment and counselling to children and their families, and consultations regarding community behavioural assessments and intervention. The District Native Child and Family Counsellor will also provide clinical support services and case management to those Anishinabek adults that have a serious mental illness. The primary responsibility is the provision of counselling services in a holistic approach for the entire family and/or caregivers.
The Clinical Counsellor will provide therapy using a variety of modalities within Clinical Services. The clinician must have substantial experience providing clinical assessments and subsequent psychotherapy. Duties include but are not limited to administering and analyzing screening and assessment tools; performing assessments and intensive therapy for individuals, families and groups; crisis intervention; research; and program consultations. Clinical supervision will be provided by the Agency’s lead Psychologist. The candidate must be able to conduct themselves with professionalism and in compliance with the Ethical Guidelines. The Clinical Counsellor will ensure the provision of cultural and clinical best practices that are consistent with the vision, mission and core values established by Dilico Anishinabek Family Care. This job requires travel to the District.
Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Adult MH&A Services, the Prevention/Aftercare Worker (Mobile) will facilitate educational and recreational group sessions, in addition to referral, liaison and capacity building services with community support resources, for clients who have previously completed treatment either at Dilico’s Adult Residential Treatment Centre or elsewhere. Aftercare services will be provided consistent with the philosophy, approach, goals and learning environment established by Dilico Anishinabek Family Care.
Under the direction of the Post Treatment Services Manager, the Post Treatment Case Manager is responsible for providing specialized mental health counselling services. This includes ensuring regular, appropriate documentation on all clinical files; regular conferencing/reviews of relevant cases; evaluating system effectiveness and recommending necessary changes; ensuring the current developmental, treatment, and psycho-social needs of clients are met by participating in the provision of assessment, counselling and referrals. A primary responsibility is to increase early identification of mental health problems and mental disorders. To ensure the provision of treatment plans and counselling services for clients that is consistent with the philosophy, policies, and standards established by Dilico Anishinabek Family Care.
Under the direction of a Child Welfare Manager, the Administrative Assistant participates in organizing the program by ensuring that daily duties are maintained and completed in a timely manner and client files are kept accurate and current. The Administrative Assistant is responsible for performing administrative, secretarial and clerical duties for the program: creating court documents; letter typing; minute taking; filing of reports, progress notes, and discharge summaries; conducting or assisting with file audits; ensuring forms are available; preparing purchase orders; coordinating the travel/accommodation of staff/clients and the use of Agency vehicles within program; and tracks attendance of unit staff and their whereabouts during the day.
The Community and Personal Support Worker is a multi-functional para-professional who is responsible for the delivery of in home support and personal care to ill, frail, and persons with disabilities of all ages so that they may remain independent in their own homes and communities for as long as possible. With supervision provided by Dilico’s Community and Personal Support Services Managers, the Community and Personal Support Worker collaborates with the Home and Community Care Registered Nurse and other Health staff, to ensure the provision of culturally appropriate support and assistance to eligible clients including provision of support with activities of daily living, personal care, caregiver relief, palliative care, speech and language pathology support, adult life enrichment program services and basic foot care. If not located at identified office, can travel from another office. Dilico provides a vehicle rental and accommodations with meal reimbursement.
The Family Wellness Worker will provide guidance and support to families in order to promote safety, success and well-being for families. The Family Wellness Worker is responsible to work with families that require additional support and guidance in order to maintain family unity or reunification in a manner that respects and incorporates the concept of family centered, culturally appropriate, and community-based care. The Family Wellness Worker will complete kinship searches to facilitate permanency with the intended outcome to prevent admission to care and to expedite the return of the children recently placed in care. The Family Wellness Worker is responsible for providing the protection of children by performing duties of Intake, Protection, and Emergency after Hours, and Kinship as required, in accordance with Provisions of Dilico Anishinabek Family Care’s Mikinaak Service Model, the Child, Youth and Family Services Act, Ministry Regulations and Standards, and Dilico Anishinabek Family Care policies and procedures.
Intensive Child & Family Worker exists to keep families together. It supports the family’s role as caregiver by supporting the family members emotionally throughout the treatment process, assisting the family in addressing crisis, and helping the family understand the treatment needs of the identified child or children. The service helps the family maintain or improve its ability to preserve itself as a healthy and effective system by engaging the primary caregivers, the siblings and any extended family or community members who have a vested interest in the family. The service is provided mostly in the family home and in the community.
