Position Overview:

The Community Mental Health and Addictions Worker will provide clinical assessments, planning, treatment and counselling to children and their families, and consultations regarding community behavioural assessments and intervention. The primary responsibility is the provision of mental health and addictions counselling services with a wholistic approach for children and their families that is consistent with the vision, mission and core values established by Dilico Anishinabek Family Care.

Under the direction of the TAY housing support Manager, the Residential Addiction Worker will carry out programming and lectures as per schedule; facilitate groups; orientate new clients to the housing support programs, transport clients to case conferences and medical appointments; maintain daily recording; case notes; ensures the safety and well-being of the clients, and the security of the TAY housing support unit in the provision of both day and evening programming.

The Kinship Services Support Worker has the responsibility and duty to ensure the needs of the child(ren) are met in kinship living arrangements, when the child is not considered to be in care of the Agency. The Kinship Service Support Worker is responsible to maintain a consistent focus on the needs of the child and advocates with the Intake Unit and/or Family Service Unit to achieve permanency for children living with members of the child’s extended family or community.

The Family Wellness Worker will provide guidance and support to families in order to promote safety, success and well-being for families. The Family Wellness Worker is responsible to work with families that require additional support and guidance in order to maintain family unity or reunification in a manner that respects and incorporates the concept of family centered, culturally appropriate, and community-based care. The Family Wellness Worker will complete kinship searches to facilitate permanency with the intended outcome to prevent admission to care and to expedite the return of the children recently placed in care. The Alternative Care Worker is responsible for providing the protection and care of children by performing duties of Alternative Care and Adoption as may be required, in accordance with provisions of the Child and Family Services Act, Ministry Regulations and Standards, Abuse Protocols, and Dilico Anishinabek Family Care policies and procedures.

The Youth Intensive Treatment Counsellor will ensure daily needs of youth in care of the program are met by actively providing daily therapeutic opportunities in the twenty-four hour home setting. Position Overview:

Under the direction of the District Mental Health and Addictions Services Manager, the Travelling Adult Mental Health and Addictions Worker will be based in the city of Thunder Bay, with regular travel to district First Nation communities. The primary focus will be coordination and delivery of programing to designated First Nations based on consultation and identified needs. Under the direction of the SNAP® Program Manager, the SNAP® Child and Family Counsellor will ensure the current developmental, treatment, and psycho-social needs of children, youth, and families are met by actively participating in the provision of assessment and treatment.
